EUR/USD
The last week has been positive for the euro, after recording a low of 1.4020 last Monday, has appreciated until Friday. The highest weekly was reached Friday with a EUR / USD 1.4245. The high pressure always latent in Portugal and Ireland have failed to affect the single currency, market participants are focusing more on a possible rise in interest rates this week. On Monday, we maintain a bullish view for the euro against the dollar, with the significant resistance of 1.4295 in the first line of sight. Any return on technical support 1.4150 is liable to offer a good buying opportunity.

The yen has continued to lose ground against the greenback last week, from 81.33 to 84.72, the highest since six months. The dollar was well supported, mainly Friday by the positive employment figures. To the euro, the yen has also suffered from touching 119.40, the highest for almost a year. The economic news of April 4, 2011
News rather charged last Friday, especially in the area of sovereign debt.
The rating agency Fitch lowered the rating by three notches from Portugal, bringing A-to BBB-, just one notch above the category of speculative investments.
Standard & Poor's also intervened by lowering the sovereign rating of BBB + to Ireland (for the long term) and A-2 (for the short term). The agency has attached to this note a stable outlook. A restructuring of the Irish debt may soon be investigated by Brussels.
On the economic front, the main macroeconomic indicator of Friday's meeting was the publication of the unemployment rate in the United States in March, which reached its lowest level since 2009 at 8.8% while economists were expecting a continuation unemployment at 8.9%.
Finally, the FOMC meeting of the Fed is looming and speeches accumulate. Jeffrey Lacker has hinted that rate hikes could occur before the end of the year because of rising inflation. The president of the Philadelphia Fed has trumped by stating that an increase is probable but it would depend heavily on "how things evolve in the months ahead. "

"Clearly, Genzyme was a gamble (...). Sanofi fundamentals still very strong and had the means. From time to time, we must take some risks to build a future, " he added.

Carrefour Capital & Blue spring pressure from Knight Vinke
The management of Carrefour and the two major shareholders of the distributor, the funds Colony and Groupe Arnault, will face the pressures of a newcomer, the American Knight Vinke, which opposed the proposed division of the French group.
Knight Vinke, which owns more than 1% stake in Carrefour, objecting to the proposed division of a subsidiary part of the land (Carrefour Property) and all of the subsidiary hard discount (Dia) of the second global distributor .
"We confirm to talk to major shareholders of Carrefour to gather their opinions about the projects recently announced by Carrefour, "said on Wednesday a spokesman for the fund.
When questioned, Carrefour declined to comment.
"Looking at the history of Knight Vinke, we see that it has had some success when he tried to influence the strategy groups in which he had entered, "said one analyst who requested anonymity.
The U.S. activist fund has revealed its participation hold just one week after the announcement of a proposed division of Carrefour badly received by investors.
To counter the plans of Carrefour, he must, according to calculations by analysts to convince approximately 25% of Group shareholders, assuming that about 75% of voters are represented on average an extraordinary general meeting and that must obtain a third of the votes to roll over the project.
The meeting will be held Carrefour June 21
FUND ACTIVE IN OTHER BUSINESS
Knight Vinke has a tactic to acquire small investments in large groups and then persuade the shareholders to change the strategy of the company.
He has already put pressure on the banking group HSBC and has contributed to the split and the IPO of Suez Environment to facilitate the merger between GDF and Suez.
After two successive profit warning, the number two worldwide distribution behind the American Wal Mart was for months under pressure from Blue Capital, the structure involving the two major shareholders of the group, the fund Colony and Arnault group, holding family Bernard Arnault, CEO of LVMH (who own 14% of capital and more than 20% of voting rights), to outsource value.
The special dividends paid to shareholders the opportunity to reach the split, according to Carrefour, 4.09 billion euros.
Shareholders of the Group since March 2007, Groupe Arnault and Colony have acquired their interest at an average price estimated at approximately 47 euros per share, a level still well above the current share price, and which is added the cost of debt incurred to finance their participation.
The proposed IPO of 25% of Carrefour Property and all of Dia, announced March 2, was punished by the market. Investors are questioning the merits of an operation intended by the principal shareholders and the flexibilities available to the group to complete its turnaround plan.
The title deals with Carrefour to 31.7 euros on Wednesday at the Paris Stock Exchange, registering an increase of 2.4% since the beginning of the year for a market capitalization of 21.5 billion euros. Since the announcement of the proposed split, the stock has dropped 9.6%.

Wall Street displayed up on Tuesday, despite an indicator of U.S consumer confidence from the Conference Board and a disappointing S & P / Case-Shiller home prices decline. In the news business, Apollo, McCormick or Lennar announced their accounts today. The DJIA took 0.67% closing at 12,279 points, while the Nasdaq gained 0.96% to 2757 pts.
The index of U.S consumer confidence measured by the Conference Board stood at 63.4 in March 2011, 64.9 cons of consensus among economists and 72 in February (revised from 70.4). Consumers in the United States are most concerned about rising gasoline prices and supply and stagnant wages. According to economist Lynn Franco of The Conference Board, this decline in confidence in March would probably impact the expenditure decisions.
Standard & Poor's released its latest survey on house prices in the United States. The S & P / Case-Shiller index that assesses residential property prices in 20 major U.S. metropolitan areas fell as expected by 3.1% year over year in January 2011, in line with the consensus of economists. James Bullard, president of the St. Louis Fed speaking today, said that the issue of normalization of U.S. monetary policy would be a key issue this year. For Bullard, monetary policy should keep accommodative in the U.S., but the Fed could not wait for complete healing of all current risks (Europe, Middle East, North Africa, Japan, U.S. tax) to raise a Part of its flexibility. The greenback has temporarily benefited from these ads.
Dennis Lockhart, who heads the Atlanta Fed, had expressed confidence yesterday about the U.S. economic recovery, expected "strong". The manager said he was satisfied with the current monetary policy and does not really concerned about inflation, as revenue growth remains very modest about it. While short-term measures of inflation have accelerated in recent months, Lockhart remained upright in his boots and thinks that this will not last.

The he earthquake in Japan will cost over 100 million euros to Axa
The earthquake and tsunami that struck Japan on March 11 should represent a cost of hundreds of millions of euros for Axa, said Sunday the CEO of French insurance group, Henri de Castries.
He said that the estimation of the exposure of Axa in Japan was difficult to make for now since we don't know yet the exact number of victims, that could exceed 20,000 dead.
"The risk we're still trying to figure (...) We believe that this should cost us a little more than a hundred million euros before taxes in terms of casualties and injuries and about a few tens of millions of euros in industrial risks, "he said.
Axa has 8,000 employees and nearly five million customers in Japan, said the CEO.
For now, the insurance company is focused "on what we can do for clients who have suffered found in support and comfort that we can give them reasons to leave. "
"This is a huge disaster, probably the greatest natural disaster ever recorded, " said Henri de Castries.
He said the total cost of the damage is much higher than the 1999 storms on European coasts and Hurricane Katrina in the United States. "The numbers which circulate for Japan is of the order of 200 to 250 billion dollars" of damage, he added.
The 20 mistakes not to commit in stock exchange!
What is the main difference between a novice and an experienced trader?
Only one, but sized: the experience.
The trader has already committed enough mistakes in his career, unlike novices.

The stock exchange is a matter of composure. Do not invest in a title under pretext that it rises.
The summer of 1998 was marked by an influx of orders on the New Market because of DSK contracts. Forgotten values climbed several tens of% per day. Once the blow fell, the price of these Values has collapsed.
Similarly, the values of the New Economy has successfully completed an unprecedented stock market performance in the first months of 2000. But the excesses have been corrected by other excesses.
Do not forget that professionals will tend to sell during periods of strong increases.
Error # 3: To believe that you have a supernatural power
It will happen at one time or another to have an unusual opportunity. Your ten to fifteen or twenty past operations have been successful in a very short space. Over this state of grace come quickly, the faster it will fall. At each new blow winner, you will tend to increase the amount of your holdings and the same token your risk. Be aware that a beginner or experienced trader can not be right 100%.

5. Do not go against the trend. (Buy when it drops or sell when it rises)
We find the rules of DOW. Everybody knows it , but we forget it very quickly, we thought to be smarter than the market.
Big mistake: we must always follow the market, solution: It falls I sell, it's up I buy.
6. At a doubt leave the market.
Do not stay in a market that is not understood.
7. Treat active shares.
Interact with liquid markets (many shares sold all days) with one matching easy. (Skip the orders to the bank by phone, not by mail).8. Do not put all your capital on a single value, a single sector, a single market.
Capital management: at least 5 lines (5 shares) and 10 lines maximum.
9. Do not limit your orders, pay the market price.
10. Do not close a position without reason.

The cure for self-discipline. Be patient!
15. Avoid small gains and large losses.
Cut rapidly the losses (sell as soon as you lose a little) and let the profits run (when we win we do not sell but they put a stop sell at 20% below the current price (Ex : an action of $20 Stop selling to 16) if the stock drops too much the action will be automatically sold by the bank) while the behavior of human nature is inclined to do the opposite. The cure for self-discipline.
16. Never cancel a stop loss (stop-sale).
It was initially set at the maximum loss, we must stick to it.

Wall Street shaken, remains concentrated on Japan and the Arab world
The New York Stock Exchange, shaken by the nuclear crisis that developed in Japan after the earthquake and further violence in the Arab world, will remain suspended next week to the international actuality.
The market is at a critical juncture: we have so many people who think that the fall in U.S markets was too strong that people who fear further negative consequences for the global economy of what is happening in Japan and Middle East, "said Michael James, of Wedbush Morgan Securities.
In the previous week, the Dow Jones lost 1.54%, closing Friday at 11,858.52 points.
The Nasdaq dropped 2.65% to 2643.67 points, and the expanded Standard & Poor's index's 1.92% to 1279.21 points.
The Dow Jones enchained three straight sessions of decline, which brought him Wednesday to its lowest level since Dec. 31, before rebounding on Thursday and Friday.
"If we think that we have at the same time a nuclear disaster, a dramatical sunami in the third world economy, the revolution in the Arabic world, and that the debt crisis in Europe is not being resolved, it is remarkable that the market is as strong, "notes Volokhine Gregori, of Meeschaert New York.
Investors have kept their eyes riveted on the Fukushima nuclear plant, where the dramatic events have succeeded.
This weekend, the authorities seem to have managed to avoid the worst. But for experts, the risk of significant radioactive releases stayed elevated Friday.
"It was a disaster but this is not the cataclysm, " observes Volokhine Gregori, which recognizes that market participants have difficulty in assessing the economic impact of the earthquake. "
The upheaval in the Arab world, sidelined earlier this week, then returned in force, when the UN passed a resolution authorizing the use force against the Libyan regime, which declared a cease-fire.
Demonstrations have also been quelled in Bahrain and Yemen.
"As a total lack of visibility, we can not handle events on a daily basis when you're an institutional investor, so it fails to act. This leaves the field open to those who do not worry invest long term and who just want to enjoy the positive and negative movements, "says Mr. Volokhine.
The economic statistics stayed largely positive in the United States. However, the acceleration of inflation has been confirmed.
The central bank has held that recovery was based on grounds "stronger" than before, while maintaining its monetary policy very accommodative.
Next week will be especially marked by real numbers: sales of existing homes on Monday and nine on Wednesday. On Thursday, investors react to orders for durable goods, then Friday at a new estimate of U.S. growth in the fourth quarter of 2010 and the index of consumer confidence.

This weekend, the authorities seem to have managed to avoid the worst. But for experts, the risk of significant radioactive releases stayed elevated Friday.

Currencies: the dollar is suffering from rising oil prices.
Penalized mechanically by rising oil prices, the dollar gave up ground against the other major currencies.
As well, the euro surpassed the $ 1.40, more than 1.402 dollar, the greenback dropped to about 82 yen against the Japanese currency. The euro is trading a little over 115 yen.
'Oil prices have again increased strongly Friday,a barrel reachs in New York levels not seen since September 2008 as violence continued in Libya, especially in the oil ports of the east,' said a manager Barclays Exchange.
He stated that the courses have soared from about $ 18 (over 21%) over the last two weeks and reached 104.60 dollars Friday in plenary, the highest level since September 29, 2008.
Beyond the effect of oil, the euro-dollar is influenced by expectations of tighter monetary policy in the euro area, which approach from the ECB meeting on Thursday.
If the key rate was kept to a low of 1%, ECB President Jean-Claude Trichet has paved the way for a future increase to offset inflationary pressures, which could increase even occur as early as next month.
In contrast, the Fed seems reluctant to challenge its quantitative easing program (QE), despite the last employment report that confirms the dynamism of the labor market in the United States and hostility displayed by several members of the central bank to maintain a policy too accommodative.
The euro fell slightly against the pound sterling at 0.859 pound, but advance against the Swiss franc to 1.298 Swiss francs.

The automated trading
Definition:
The automated trading has existed since the 80s. It is a practice commonly used by major banks and investment funds consisting of stock orders passing through a robot that scans the market with algorithms.
It is a typical of Forex, encouraged by low investment costs and the high liquidity of the market (lets buy and sell quickly).
Gradually, the automated trading becomes more democratic, although individuals will never take advantage of all the technological benefits of financial firms.
The strengths:
The automated trading brings great advantages compared to traditional trading:
- Robots analyze multiple charts simultaneously and place orders anytime ,day and night.
- Robots do not make the mistake of inattention.
- The robots perform complex calculations in a record time.
- The robots allow scalping.
How can I learn more?
Metatrader trading platform is the most used and most accessible to install robots (called Expert Advisor). Metatrader is offered by most Forex brokers.
These robots must be programmed in MQL4, a proprietary programming language specially developed and very flexible. They may for example be based on historical prices and technical indicators.

Currency
Each currency is represented by a symbol of 3 letters EUR for Euro, USD for U.S. dollars, Japanese yen JPY, ...
Currencies are always traded in pairs, it is not possible to buy or sell one currency alone.
For example the EUR / USD is the price of the euro against the dollar. If the EUR / USD rises, it means that the euro has been appreciated against the dollar. And conversely if the EUR / USD decrease.
It usually displays the evolution of the course in a chart. A graph follows the prize value over time.
Currencies are taking or losing value depending on the economical conditions in countries (deterioration -> decrease and Improvement -> increase). The monetary policy plays also an important role in their scoring: a policy of inflationary type (massive impression of new notes and general rise of prices and wages) will be a strong downward impact of one currency compared to another.
The dollar is far the most traded currency.
The most missing currency is the Chinese yuan, because authorities refused his free trade to maintain it at an abnormally low (dumping of imports)
