Pre-opening Wall Street: strong rebound with Google and retail sales (14-10-2011)

Wall Street climbs in pre-session on Friday, boosted by the quarterly of Google and retail sales clearly above the expectations, which are surprising taking into account the historically depressed of latest indicators of Americans confidence. According to the U.S Commerce Department on Friday, retail sales in the U.S for September 2011 increased at a rate of 1.1%, compared to the previous month, exceeding the consensus (0.5%). Excluding autos, sales were up by 0.6% against 0.2% of consensus. In addition, sales in August have been reviewed up to 0.3% (0.5% excluding automobile).

The import prices in the U.S for September 2011 climbed by 0.3%  against a consensus of -0.3% and a decrease of -0.2% a month before (revised from -0.4 %). The export prices, meanwhile, rose 0.4% from the previous month.

The index of consumer sentiment from the University of Michigan for October will be announced soon(consensus 60.2). Business inventories for August will be announced also in a while (consensus 0.4%). Finally, the budget deficit will be revealed in September at 20 hours ($ 65 billion estimated).
