The Bank of Japan releases funds for the North-East

The Bank of Japan announced Sunday that it provided a total of 55 billion yen (490 million euros) to 13 financial institutions in the Northeast since the day before to help them to cope with withdrawal requests after the earthquake on Friday.

"The BoJ will continue to do his utmost to ensure financial market stability and mutual funds through measures such as provision of liquidity, " she said in a statement, adding that all its services normally open Monday.
