* STARBUCKS plans to carry out acquisitions in the next 12 to 18 months to develop its business, announces Director General Howard Schultz in an interview with the Wall Street Journal.
* NASDAQ OMX - The London Stock Exchange (LSE) plans to seize the U.S. stock operator, reports the Sunday Times, a month after announcing the proposed merger between the British establishment and the operator of the Stock Exchange Toronto.
* Engine Alliance, a joint venture of General Electric and Pratt & Whitney, a subsidiary of United Technologies, has been selected by Etihad Airways, based in Abu Dhabi, to power its future fleet of Airbus 380, as part of a command $ 1.5 billion.
